One week AICTE sponsored online Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with Data Science” has been inaugurated at GNDEC.
Dr. Kiran Jyoti, HOD, IT, the coordinating department mentioned that the objective to conduct this programme is to train the factuty & researchers in upcoming techniques like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and data science in the diverse range of applications including banking, agriculture and natural language processing.
Prof. Sandeep Kumar Singla and Dr. Pankaj Bhambri, shared that in this national event more than 400 applicants had applied. 100 participants from all regions of the country were selected.
Dr. Deepak Garg from Bennet University, Noida) and Director NVIDIA-BCRAI inaugurated the programme as chief guest and shared his expert opinions on various research challenges in AI. He elaborated the benefits of using AI like reduction of time taken to perform a task, enabling the execution of complex tasks without significant cost outlays. Dr. Jitender Kumar Chhabra from NIT Kurukshetra delivered the expert talk on the topic “Adding Intelligence to Engineering Systems”.
Dr. H.S. Rai, HOD civil when presiding over the function said that e-learning is the optimum solution during this epidemic current situation. He enlightened the significance of AI, ML and Data Analytics in all evolving disciplines. Dr.Sehijpal Singh,Principal,GNDEC, appreciated the initiative of IT department and said that these trainings are the need of hour.
