GNDEC celebrates 65th foundation day

Guru Nanak Dev Engg College celebrated it’s 65th Foundation day by  conducting small but impressive function in GNE campus. The first President of India, Late Dr Rajendra Prasad, laid its foundation stone on April 8, 1956. Path Sri Sukhmani and kirtan was recited by college staff and students in college Gurudwara Sahib. A mini exhibition of innovative projects prepared by Engineering and Architecture students was arranged. These projects are being presented for sponsorships from GNE Alumni for their further development and incubation. Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal presented warm welcome and shared the historical progress and contributions of the college towards generation of technical manpower at global levels. During his address, he focused on the role of creativity and innovation in all aspects of human development.

Dr Munish Jindal, CEO Hoverrobotix and Dr PK Banerejee, Chief Scientist, MERADO were invited as resource persons to interact with students. Dr. Munish Jindal took the topic of Innovations and shared his success story. He motivated the audience by sharing that his company is the single manufacturer of flying hover crafts in India. He cited lot of live examples and called upon the young students to bring their new ideas for product development. Dr PK Banerejee detailed his views with a quote  “Implementation of Innovative projects is a way to encourage creative thinking”.

Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director, STEP and Coordinator of the event, thanked the guests for their valuable words. He also appreciated the students for their innovative projects and promised them to provide all support from STEP.
