A six weeks Department of Science & Technology sponsored online Technical Entrepreneurship development program conducted under aegis of Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana concluded today. The program was conducted especially for budding technical graduates from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana. Over 32 students registered for this program. Students were given inputs right from ideation to producing pilot prototype and then tips on commercialization of the developed idea. Expert sessions on product selection, process selection, market segmentation, government schemes for startups, financial management, intellectual property rights, preparation of business plan etc were held during this program. Experts from industry and academia gave shared their expertise with budding entrepreneurs. Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, Coordinator of the program appreciated the enthusiasm with which the students participated in the program. Virtual factory visits were organized. Talks with young startup entrepreneurs were also conducted. Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana while thanking DST for support extended to conduct the program exhorted the students to work on their ideas and get them commercialized. He advised the students to take benefit of STEP-TBI which was the incubation arm for the college. On the concluding day eight business plans were presented. The business plans ranged from online mess facility, Travel platform, Photography, social projects with NGOs , one time power bank for travelers to digital laundry. Dr.Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director, STEP-GNDEC while appreciating the efforts of students in presenting the projects said that college had adopted the National Innovation and Startup policy as envisaged by Ministry of Education, Government of India. He also assured that the viable ideas presented through business plans would be given some seed funding to start their own enterprise under aegis of STEP-TBI, GNDEC.
