Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana in continuation of its efforts to contribute to societal uplift has signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Punjab Energy Development Agency, Chandigarh: the nodal agency for Punjab state for promotion of harnessing power from Non conventional energy sources. The MoU has been signed for research & development projects on energy conservation & Energy efficiency under State Energy Efficiency Research & Outreach Program of Bureau of Energy Efficiency , Ministry of Power, Government of India. The mission objective of this MoU is to work on research on innovative projects in field of energy efficiency/ energy conservation on projects related to clean energy, energy modelling and simulation, monitoring, benchmarking, net energy zero buildings, advanced HVAC and lighting technologies, energy efficient equipments, testing evaluation and certification. This MoU would aim to bridge the gap between theory and field through technical inputs at onsite locations. Under this MoU, institute can submit R&D proposals which shall be forwarded to Bureau of energy efficiency for approval. GNDEC on its part shall publicize programs, provide strategic support, guidance and direction for R&D projects, designing, testing, performance evaluation and analysis of different technologies. The institute will also host conferences, training courses and workshops. The agreement was signed by Sh. Navdeep Singh, CEO, PEDA along with Sh. M P Singh, Sh. Balkar Singh from PEDA and Dr. Harmeet Singh & Dr.Arvind Dhingra from GNDEC on behalf of Dr.Sehijpal Singh, Principal, GNDEC. Elaborating further Dr.Sehijpal Singh said that college was always for taking the benefits of technological innovations from labs to the actual industry.
