A week-long faculty development programme, sponsored by TEQIP III, is being organised by Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), in collaboration with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pragatinagar, Shimla, from May 27 to June 1 at Testing and Consultancy Hall, GNDEC.
The principal of GNDEC, Dr Sehijpal Singh, welcomed the executive director of Hero Cycle Foundation, Dr Prem Kumar, who was the chief guest and the former principal of GNDEC, Dr SB Singh, who was the guest of honour.
Dr Sehijpal Singh laid emphasis on effective pedagogical practices. He said pedagogy emphasised dealing with ideation and techniques of teaching. Dr Singh said the main concern of pedagogy lied in setting up a hierarchical environment through which prerequisites and reveries of an apprentice were being understood by teachers. He also spoke about the contribution of TEQIP III initiatives to holding such beneficial development programmes.
Eminent speakers and dignitaries of national and regional repute, including Dr Kamal K Jain from IIM Indore; Dr Inderdeep Singh from IIT Roorkee; Dr Rakesh Wats, Professor and Head, NITTTR; Dr Jitendra Mohan, Professor-Emiretus; Dr Sanjeev Sharma, Professor, UIAMS, Panjab University (PU); Dr Dinesh Gupta, Professor, UBS, PU; Dr Sanjay Wadwalkar, Professor, PU; Dr Anupama Sharma, Professor, PU; and other from various fields, will be giving sessions during the programme and enrich participants from various parts of the country.
