One week online training program for engineering faculty and students has been started by Electrical Engineering department of Guru Nanak Dev Engg College (GNDEC)
Keeping in view the prevalent conditions of lockdown. The program is sponsored by MHRD supported TEQIP-III project which aims at developing academically content manpower for overall quality improvement of technical education in the country. Giving information about this web based program Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Coordinator of the program said that with the encouragement received from college administration we have designed a week long training sessions by involving experts from prestigious organistions. The program shall be run online with participants logging into the system from their homes. Four sessions shall be conducted each day. Overwhelming response received from all over the country has forced us to run the program in two shifts. Over 190 participants from all parts of the country have registered for the training and are actively participating. Dr.Sehijpal Singh, Principal while speaking at the inauguration said that such programs were the need of the hour and would help maintain the contact and interaction between faculty and students on the emerging areas. He disclosed that college had developed an online system under MOODLE Platform to engage students and faculty in this challenging scenario. Dr.Kanwardeep Singh, HOD,EED advised all participants to work cohesively to make this event a success. Experts from all over the country shall be sharing their knowledge on this platform. These include Dr. D P Kothari, Ex-Director, IIT, Delhi, Ms. Sangita Kapoor, Director, Blue Planet, Kolkata, Dr. Y P Verma, UIET, Chandigarh, Dr. Parag Nijhawan, TIET, Patiala, Dr. Saurabh Ratra, PAU, Ludhiana, Dr.Sudhir Sharma, DAVIET, Jalandhar, Er. Money Khanna, PEDA, Chandigarh. Sessions on Energy sceanbrio, Circular thinking, Energy Audit procedures, Fuel cells, micro grids, Energy saving in farm sector and others shall be held in this program.
