The most exhilarating two-day cultural fest “Anand Utsav 2020” commenced on 5th March 2020; at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College .. The passion of students for the event could be seen in the enthusiasm they bought on desk by giving a huge participation in various cultural activities.
On the first day of the fest, cultural activities covering the aura with colorful flavors took place, these include heritage show, western solo, skit, light vocal solo, folk song solo, live band (Desi folkism) .The panel of judges from diverse fields and esteemed institutes of the region were called upon for fair and viable results. Deserving students achieved laurels in area of academics and extracurricular activities.
The chief guest of the day Mota Singh Sarai, Patron European Punjabi Sath(UK)endorsed the guest of honour’s note by saying that more than professionalism, work ethics and attitude must be espoused by the youth of today. These fests bring together various cultures and social values and we must respect every religion is what he added further.
The guest of honour Dr. Jagroop Singh, Principal, Mehr Chand Polytechnic college, Jalandhar, Er. Rajinder Kumar Sharma, GM operations, Eicher Volvo) Prof. Jaswinder Singh, Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar, Sukhpreet Singh, Renowned artist, graced the occasion and addressed the audience about the professionalism attitude that the youth should adopt.To conclude the first day, The College bhangra team presented bhangra with full energy and fervour much to the audiences’ delight.
Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal, GNDEC seemed excited and in full gusto for the beginning of the fest and was delighted with the enthusiasm that Anand Utsav brings live in the students of Punjab.Dr. Jagbir Singh, President Cultural Committee showed gratitude towards God almighty for the successful instigation of the fest and motivated the students for overall participation.
On the 2nd day of Anand Utsav 2020 witnessed the preceding day by declaration of results of the different cultural events which were organized, including solo dance, group dance, folk dance etc.Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal, GNDEC initiated the colorful day with a note that diverse cultures celebrated together is the benchmark of Punjab, and no better arena for the same than the pious grounds of GNDEC.
Besides these all activities, the program was enriched with the live performance of the Deity of singing, Dr. SATINDER SARTAJ and the crowd was uncontrollable, dancing on the beats of “Yamha”. All the guests and students were seen bopping the performance and never wanted it to end.The efforts laid by Cultural Committee, GNDEC were visible enough in smooth conduct of all the activities of the fest. Worth mentioning here were the accord that was depicted in the ambiance of the premises.
