GNDEC to promote Innovations in MSMEs

Research and Development is an integral part of both the industry and educational institutions. The sustainable economic development is at the top of the political agenda in India. The private sector, particularly micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), is expected to be a key driver here. GNDEC being pioneer in engineering education has been supported by GIZ to initiate this innovative project.The program aims at identifying the problems faced MSME of Ludhiana and Strengthening cooperation between the private sector, government and the academic and research community. Another aim is to introduce and disseminate new technologies, products, processes and business models in industry of Ludhiana & provide solutions. The first phase of project shall be completed by September 2020. The students of Mechanical and Production Engineering Branch, under the mentorship of college professors will accomplish various targets phase wise. The financial support of more than 5.5 lakhs needed by the teams would be provided by GIZ. Dr. P.S. Bilga, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department & also the coordinator of the innovative project is pleased to head such an initiative, one of its kind in the region.

Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal, GNDEC shares his experience of promoting innovation in collaboration with MSME- Inno. Project, GIZ, Germany , which will be providing new impetus to the students for skill enhancement, which will take them a long way in the industry. Such policies will soon become an integral part of economic development in the region and at national level. He disclosed that a project exhibition is being planned on 24th Dec in the college to mobilize the students and industry representatives.
