GNDEC lifts runners-up trophy at youth fest

Students of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) have brought laurels to the institute by winning the overall runners-up championship trophy in an inter-zonal youth fest held at IKGPTU, Kapurthala.

The festival concluded on a high note on Wednesday. IGP Naunihal Singh was the chief guest on the concluding day of the festival.

Delivering a spectacular performance, GNDEC won the overall dance trophy, seven gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals. The college won gold medals in bhangra, skit, folk singing, vaar singing, quiz, classical instrumental (percussion and non-percussion). The giddha team bagged silver while one-act play, individual quiz and classical vocal solo bagged bronze medals.

Avneet Kaur, Simarjit Singh and Karandeep Singh were declared the best giddha dancer, best actor and best bhangra dancer, respectively. The bhangra team has won gold medal fourth time in a row.

Principal Dr.Sehijpal Singh and cultural coordinator Jagbir Singh attributed the success of the youth festival to the hard work students, teachers and team in-charges.
